Introduction to falconry at fulham palace
Price per participant T.B.A
Join us at the beautiful Fulham Palace House & Garden, the historic home of the Bishops of London. Learn about the origins of falconry and how it relates to the fascinating history of Fulham Palace, flying through the idyllic gardens and woodland nestled in the heart of London.
The experience will begin in the 13 acres of stunning walled gardens, where you will meet a range of hawks, falcons and owls. Guests will be taught how to handle our birds, and learn about their natural habits and any conservation work being carried out to protect the species.
We will begin with flying one of our smaller owls or kestrels, flying to your glove across the main lawn, in view of the palace. We will continue to explore through the walled gardens, periodically calling our birds through the orchards.
Following this, we will fly one of our hawks or larger owls through the woodland which includes an ancient holm oak over five centuries old, designated as one of the Great Trees of London.
The session will end with each guest being awarded a certificate of completion.
For this experience, there is a maximum of 10 participants per group, and the duration is 1 hour and 30 minutes.
10% of all proceeds go directly to helping endangered birds of prey.
